Brands we work on every week
Most faucet drips come from a worn cartridge, washer or O-ring, and those parts can be replaced without removing the faucet. If the faucet body is corroded, parts are no longer made or the finish is failing, replacement is usually smarter. We identify the brand and model, carry common cartridges and tell you which option costs less over time.
Repairing the faucet you already have
Faucets fall into a few families: compression faucets with rubber washers, cartridge faucets, ball faucets and ceramic disc faucets. Each one leaks for its own reasons, and the fix depends on which type you have. We identify the brand and model, shut off the stops, take the handle apart and inspect the parts before we decide what to replace.
Most repairs mean a new cartridge, washer, seat or set of O-rings. We clean scale off the parts we reuse, grease the moving pieces with plumber's silicone and put the faucet back together. A good repair on a quality faucet can make it work like new for years, and it is often far cheaper than buying a replacement.

When it's time to put in a new faucet
Replacement makes sense when the faucet body is cracked or corroded, the finish is flaking or the brand no longer makes parts. It also makes sense when you want a different style: a pull-down kitchen faucet, a touch faucet or a single handle bath faucet that is easier to use. We check the number of holes in your sink before you buy, so the new faucet fits without gaps.
During a replacement, we remove the old faucet, clean the deck, install the new one with fresh supply lines and test it for leaks at every connection. If the stop valves under the sink are seized or dripping, we replace them while the water is off. That way the next repair under the sink will be easier.
Small habits that help faucets last longer
Turn handles gently to the off position. Pushing a lever hard against its stop wears cartridges sooner. Unscrew and clean the aerator every few months by soaking it in vinegar to dissolve scale. If a handle starts to feel stiff, call before it cracks, since a stiff cartridge is easier to replace before it fails completely.
Glance under your kitchen and bathroom sinks every month or two. Look for damp wood, white mineral trails or drips on the supply lines. Catching a small leak early protects the cabinet floor and the room below. Braided supply lines should be replaced every several years, and immediately if they look frayed or bulged.

Step by step
Our faucet repair and replacement steps
- 01
Identify the faucet
We find the brand, model and faucet type, check for parts availability and look at the stops and supply lines underneath the sink.
- 02
Talk through options
You get the price for a repair and, if it makes sense, a replacement. We explain which choice will save money over the next several years.
- 03
Shut off and protect
We close the stops, open the faucet to relieve pressure, plug the drain so small parts can't fall in and protect the countertop.
- 04
Repair or install
We replace cartridges, washers and seals, or install the new faucet with fresh supply lines and new stops if the old ones are worn.
- 05
Test for leaks
We run hot and cold water, check the spout, the handle and every connection underneath, and clean the aerator before we leave.
Warning signs
Faucet problems worth fixing before they get worse
A steady drip from the spout
A worn cartridge or washer lets water slip through when the handle is off. Drips get faster with time, and hot water drips also waste the energy used to heat it.
Water around the handle or base
Leaks at the base of the spout or under the handle usually come from worn O-rings or seals. Water can run down into the cabinet without anyone noticing.
Stiff or gritty handle
Mineral scale inside the cartridge makes handles hard to turn or keeps them from moving smoothly. Forcing it can crack the cartridge and make a small issue much worse.
Weak flow from one faucet only
If only one faucet is weak, the aerator or cartridge is often clogged with debris. When every faucet is weak, the cause is usually upstream instead.
Pull-down sprayer that leaks or drags
Kitchen pull-down hoses wear out at the connections and the spray head. Leaks show up as a wet cabinet floor, and a worn weight makes the hose retract poorly.
A wobbly faucet on the sink
Loose mounting nuts let the faucet twist when you use it, which stresses the supply connections. Tightening them is a quick fix that prevents a leak later.
Aurora notes
Faucet repair in Aurora homes
Aurora's moderately hard water leaves mineral deposits on aerators, cartridges and the inside of faucet bodies. That scale slowly causes stiff handles, uneven spray patterns and drips that won't stop. Faucets in busy kitchens tend to show it first. Cleaning aerators regularly helps, and choosing a faucet with replaceable ceramic cartridges makes future repairs simpler.
Colorado has required new faucets sold in the state to meet EPA WaterSense efficiency levels since 2016, so a new faucet will use less water than many older models while still delivering good flow. In older homes in Original Aurora and central Aurora, we often find faucets connected to galvanized or old copper stubs with corroded stops, which we replace during a faucet swap so the whole connection is new.

Faucet Repair & Replacement questions from Aurora homeowners
Is it worth fixing a dripping faucet or should I replace it?
If the faucet is a good brand in decent shape and parts are available, repair is usually cheaper and quick. If the body is corroded, the finish is worn or you've replaced the cartridge more than once recently, a new faucet makes more sense. We give you both prices so you can choose.
Why does my single handle faucet drip only on the hot side?
Hot water wears seals and cartridges a little faster, and scale tends to build up more on the hot side. In a single handle faucet, the cartridge controls both sides, so replacing the cartridge usually fixes it. In two handle faucets, the hot side cartridge or washer is often the only part needing work.
How do I find the brand of my faucet?
Look for a logo on the handle, the base or the spout. If you can't find one, the shape of the handle and the cartridge itself can tell us the brand. A photo of the faucet and the parts under the sink helps us bring the right cartridge on the first visit.
Can I reuse my old supply lines with a new faucet?
We don't recommend it. Supply lines age and their seals harden, so reusing them on a new faucet risks a leak at a connection you just disturbed. Many new faucets include their own lines. If not, we install new braided lines sized for your stops as part of the job.
Why is water leaking from under my kitchen faucet base?
The usual cause is a worn O-ring around the spout or a loose mounting nut that lets the faucet shift. On pull-down faucets, a worn hose connection can leak and run down the faucet body. We take it apart, find the actual source and replace the worn seal or hose.
